Photo analysis

This photo looks like it
Image result for nadav kander

Was in a studio as the

Background looks like

Some sort of black board

With a light projecting

Onto the background this

Is why there is a shadow

Around the person.

The photo is a close up but it

Is at an angle.

The colours are dull neutral colours with kander uses colours such as greys and blacks for the background. Even the person who is in the photo is wearing a brown jumper.

The mood of the person is looking serious and I think it ties in with the colours as they are not bright colours they are dark colours. The person in the camera is not making any eye contact I think they have done this to show the mood.

The background could also have been photoshoped as  the different the blacks and greys are mixed together.

3 POINT LIGHTING

3 POINT LIGHTING

Three-point lighting is a standard method used in visual media such as theatre, video, film, still photography and computer-generated imagery.

The goal of three point lighting is to create the illusion of a three-dimensional subject in a two-dimensional image. While you can create dimension a number of different ways, there’s no doubt that using light and shadow is a powerful way to accomplish this, and three point lighting is the lighting technique most commonly used.

QUICK PHOTO EDIT

ORGINAL

I think the idea is good but I think I need to get out of the photo and I also feel that the lighting needs to change.

After editing I now feel this photo is better as it has been cropped and I have changed the lighting so it looks better. The photo looks brighter and I think it shows that Tom is a bright and happy person. I also changed the contrast so it is more red on his face.

Billingham versus Dali

    Billinghm

This photo looks like it is not in a studio as the lighting is natural as the sun is shining in from a window. In my opinion the photo is not staged due to there being alcohol in the photo so the cat could have actually been thrown by the man as he could be drunk and the cat could have done something to him so he threw the cat.

Dali

Image result for dali
Dali/s photo was taken when cameras were first made. This photo looks like it was taken in a studio as the lighting looks like it is being projected onto the background, This photo is staged due to the strings hanging from the walls so the cats and the man are off the ground because of that. In my opinion is that this photo is more likely to be seen as staged as it is easier to spot how the photo is created.

Andy Gotts style

The first photo captures Tom with a sense of humour side to him as Andy Gotts  would have done. I had to talk to him to get his humour out of him as if I didn't we would not see the humour side of Tom. I feel that the photo is quite burley so I need to work on my focus but I think that this captures another side to him and it would have been better with more focus. With the other photo it captures Tom with more of a serious look. I think there is more focus compared to the other photo but I think I can still improve. Both of these images are close ups and both of the photo's represent two sides to him.
